About The Literacy Council

The Literacy Council is dedicated to empowering adults through literacy, enriching lives within our community, and fostering a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Our commitment to education and personal growth is the foundation of our mission, aiming to unlock the potential in each person we serve.

Our vision is to be a warm, welcoming environment, serving as an educational hub that fosters a community among our expanding student and volunteer base. We will deliver personalized one-on-one and small group tutoring in English learning, basic literacy, high school equivalency preparation, digital literacy, and financial literacy. We will be recognized as advocates for both English Learner adults and those with low literacy, tailoring our outreach to parents and caregivers with an aim to uplift generational literacy. As a result, our expanding network of communities will become more vibrant, welcoming, and prosperous for all.
